We rated the travel agencies’ extent of destinations. The more spread around the globe the locations are, the higher the score.

We picked agencies offering group tours, family tours, and bespoke tours to cater to various traveler needs and preferences.

Value for money

We checked if the agency’s tour package rates are reasonable relative to the typical range in Singapore (roughly $2,500 to $6,000+ per person, depending on the destination and itinerary).

We also checked if the experience and service the travelers received were worth the price they paid.

Pros

  • Great for touring European countries
  • Offers an extensive list of package tours
  • Competitive rates
  • Regular discounts

Cons

  • Last-minute itinerary changes are probable
  • Customer service’s responsiveness needs some work

Frequent flyers looking to conquer Europe next might find EU Holidays’ extensive package tours appealing.

It’s not only the extent of tours available that is impressive but also the types of packages the agency offers.

Its Europe packages come in six to 20-day multi-country tours (for energetic globe-trotters) or single-country thematic travel (for people who prefer a more immersive experience).

Aside from the range of tours, many clients told us that they chose the company due to its competitive rates (packages usually start from $2,500).

Meanwhile, those with a partner and a kid saved around $300+ per person, thanks to the agency’s twin/trio fare promo.

Clients who have completed a few tours said it’s impressive how the agency provided consistently good hotels and restaurants wherever they went. They thought this feat added to the overall enjoyable experience.

Many travelers also mentioned that their tour leaders are fun to be with, adding a layer of entertainment during long drives on the continent.

And while we’re mostly talking about its Europe packages, know that EU Holidays also offer tours to Asia, the Americas, Australia, and New Zealand.

That said, we find it disappointing that the company offers tours to only four Asian countries (the region is much more than Japan, China, Taiwan, and Korea, after all!).

A few clients also mentioned that the agency failed to inform them of itinerary changes ahead of time.

One client knew of the change only a few days before her travel date. The update was minor, but it still frustrated her, as she expected the company to deliver such information to its customers promptly.

Pros

  • Senior industry player
  • Continuously growing list of destinations
  • Wide package price range

Cons

  • Customer communication needs work
  • Some hotel choices are not satisfying

Chan Brothers is one of the most established travel agencies in Singapore with its impressive 50-year experience, and it has an extensive list of destinations and travel package types to show for it.

The company offers tours for destinations in six of seven continents, many located in Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Moreover, the agency constantly expands its reach, which seasoned travelers love. Returning clients said the company updating its destination list is one of the reasons they chose to stick with it for years.

Many also appreciate the travel package variety. Clients can choose among group tours, free and easy holidays, and private trips.

Budget travelers said they prefer group tours, as they’re cheaper.

Meanwhile, young and energetic jet-setters with money to spare said they love the free-and-easy holiday packages, as the setup allows for more leisurely explorations.

That said, a few customers mentioned they had gripes with the agency’s choice of hotels.

One client shared that his Japan trip was not 100% satisfying, as he had to stay in two visibly run-down hotels, which were also slightly far from attractions.

Clients who don’t want to experience the same disappointment might want to try the agency’s private tours. But, as the package type is customizable, it will be pricier.

We also received reports that some clients who booked private tours experienced communication hiccups.

One client who booked a private Bhutan tour said he had to follow up with the agency for information about pre-travel briefings and other concerns but had trouble reaching the company.

He later learned that the people who booked group tours had attended a briefing already and that his travel coordinator had failed to inform him. He and his family had to go to the office later for a rather rushed briefing instead.

We think such communication issues are due to Chan Brothers’ many clients and extensive packages. Still, the agency should work to improve its customer service to retain its clients.

Pros

  • Highly responsive and knowledgeable front desk
  • Ideal for people who prefer customized travel plans
  • Plenty of Southeast Asian destinations
  • Also offers business travel packages

Cons

  • Limited multi-country tours
  • Pricey packages

Globetrotters who prefer a carefully curated, tailored travel experience will find Fayyaz Travels’ bespoke package tours a blessing!

Unlike other agencies that offer mostly group tours, this company focuses on providing private travel packages instead.

Clients who hired the agency after a disappointing group tour from other companies were thrilled about their experience with Fayyaz.

One customer who brought his family to South America using the agency said it was consistent with its service from start to finish.

He said he was impressed, as his travel coordinator was highly responsive, which he thinks is essential for private tours where every detail is tailored to the client’s needs.

Another customer said she picked Fayyaz due to its extensive list of Southeast Asia destinations (12 countries) and Middle East destinations (7 countries). She had always wanted to explore the said regions, making the agency a convenient choice.

She also mentioned that Fayyaz assists with visa processing, which is a big plus in her book.

Meanwhile, one client shared that he called the company to ask if the team could whip up a plan for his travel budget (he didn’t disclose the price, though).

He said the customer desk accommodated his query and got back to him with a suggested itinerary a few days later.

We think it’s impressive that you can name your price for this agency! That said, we recommend searching for average travel costs for your destination to keep your expectations realistic.

It’s only disappointing that Fayyaz has a limited number of packages for multi-country tours, unlike other agencies with a plethora of world-hopping opportunities.

Moreover, the agency’s prices are relatively high, so only engage them if you have saved enough for a bespoke travel package.

Pros

  • Competitive tour rates
  • Caring, detail-oriented tour leaders
  • World Travel Awards winner (leading travel agency in Singapore)

Cons

  • Limited to popular destinations in Asia and Europe
  • Refunds for agency-canceled tours can take months to process

Explorers who want to tour Asia and Europe at reasonable rates will find Super Travels a viable choice.

The company’s package tours start at $2,500 for a week-long trip. Many clients agreed, and we found the agency’s rates to be one of the most competitive in the market!

Customers also told us that Super Travels’ 20 years of experience and 2019 World Travel Awards acclaim are reassuring enough for them to entrust the company with their travel plans.

However, those finicky with accommodations might find the agency’s hotel choices unsatisfying.

A few repeat clients shared that tour packages with hotels tagged as “subject to availability” may be a hit and miss. Sometimes the place they stay in is nice, sometimes not so much.

Fortunately, these same clients clarified that besides the accommodation issues, the agency’s travel tours and tour leaders are excellent. They said the pacing is just right, and their travel coordinator is consistently on top of things.

However, the agency might need to work on its communications, especially when dealing with customer refunds.

A customer told us that he had to wait up to six months before he could receive his refund following a tour cancellation due to bad weather.

We also think the company is best for newbie travelers, as its packages feature only the most popular destinations in Asia and Europe (think: Japan, Maldives, France, and Italy).

If you prefer less-traveled destinations, an agency with a broader reach will be a better option.

Pros

  • Great for immersive tours
  • Has travel packages for countries in every continent
  • Competent tour managers

Cons

  • Packages are pricey
  • Leisurely pace may not appeal everyone

Intriq Journey’s carefully curated, thematic travel packages will be most charming for adventurers who want to immerse in a country’s culture, history, and natural beauty.

The agency offers packages focusing on experiences, exploring a country through railroads, food and wine, and cultural heritage.

Many clients who booked the tours before pointed out that Intriq’s itineraries are slow-paced to allow travelers to savor each location and experience.

They said it’s different from other tours (especially group tours) that cram activities into a tight schedule.

One client who booked a railroad tour with the company shared that riding the luxurious Maharajas’ Express and the humble tuk-tuk was a life-changing experience.

He said the tour allowed him to see the country from different perspectives and learn deeply.

Other clients mentioned that the tours are for small groups, allowing for a more tight-knit traveling experience.

That said, the rates for the packages are pricey (starting at $5,000 for seven to ten-day trips). You’ll have to save some more to experience Intriq’s unique tours.

Thankfully, travel packages for families with slightly lower fees are available.

However, the leisurely pace of the tours might not be preferable to travelers who are more into sightseeing and taking photos of iconic locations.

Mainstream travel agencies’ packed schedules and popular highlights may be the better option for such clients.
