We chose companies that offer a wide range of balanced and nutritious meals that also taste good.
Plus points to those that deliver a variety of vegetarian and halal-certified dishes!

Value for money

We opted for meal delivery services that charge reasonable rates for their food. Those who offer promos are particularly commendable!

Reputation

We picked companies that have been in the industry for five years and up and have no glaring issues related to food mishandling.

Customer service

Delivery services ought to be responsive, punctual, and accommodating to customers. We chose companies that exhibit these qualities on most, if not all, occasions.

Pros

  • Extensive food selection
  • Reasonable rates
  • Usually responsive
  • Vegetarian meals available

Cons

  • No delivery on weekends
  • No trial meal plans

Busy people who can’t decide what to eat will love Nutrition Kitchen’s straightforward approach to providing weekly meal plans.

With just a few clicks on their ordering page, you can secure your breakfast, lunch, and dinner for five days and up without worrying about anything.

We love that the meal delivery service offers balanced meals. On top of that, you can opt for low-carb, vegetarian, or flexitarian packages.

We also like that they offer a variety of meals from Asian to western cuisine, as it helps keep the food line-up exciting.

It’s a bit of a downer that Nutrition Kitchen serves only on weekdays, though, leaving some busy people groping for their weekend meal plans.

We also think that the minimum of five-day meals per order is too heavy a commitment for people who are just discovering the convenience of delivery services. A trial period might be better to attract new customers.

Also, we don’t recommend ordering from the company if you have allergies and food preferences,, as they don’t do customizations.

3. YoloFoods

Pros

  • Plenty of food options and plans
  • Promos regularly available
  • Offers 2 delivery options
  • Generous portions

Cons

  • A bit pricey
  • Occasional communication mishaps

We like YoloFoods’ approach to making delivery services more convenient for its customers. Ordering from the company means you can either receive all of the meals once in a bundle or opt for the daily delivery set-up.

The options provide flexibility for people who are not eating at home for consecutive days. When you choose the daily delivery set-up, you can specify what day of the week you want your meal delivered (subject to the validity period of the order).

YoloFoods’ extensive food selection is nothing to scoff at too. You can find pasta, spicy beef, teriyaki, vegan curry, and many more on their menu, plus snacks and desserts for good measure.

However, we find the three-day wait for delivering meal plans slightly long, especially since weekends and public holidays aren’t counted.

It might not also be a good idea to order from the company if your schedule changes frequently, as YoloFoods only allows delivery within two timeslots.

Pros

  • Dietitian-approved meals
  • Prompt delivery
  • Plenty of package price options
  • Offers a trial meal

Cons

  • Some dishes might be too salty
  • A little pricey

We love that Tian Wei Signature’s mantra is making non-boring confinement food, as it’s a well-deserved treat for moms who are recuperating after giving birth. After all, the last thing these mothers want is bland meals.

Moreover, we think it’s so thoughtful of the company to offer both traditional and fusion cuisines, catering to more moms and their various preferences.

The company’s trial meal offer is convenient for those who wanted to test the waters before committing to a one-month plan.

Delivery and communication are prompt and responsive, for the most part, which is good news for the mom and the one placing the order (the nanny or a family member).

However, we gathered from a few customers that some of Tian Wei’s food is too salty for their liking. If you have a low threshold for saltiness, then consider ordering confinement food from other providers.

The taste of the food might also be hit-and-miss for more discerning palates, especially the soup dishes.

5. Grain

Pros

  • Flavorful dishes
  • Easy-to-use online meal planner
  • Plenty of money-saving promos

Cons

  • Limited selection for meal plans
  • Limited booking for on-demand meals

Grain is known more for its catering services, but the company has recently rolled out a meal plan generator for those who prefer to taste their food via the usual Singaporean meal delivery way.

Meals you can expect to receive include Hainanese chicken rice, torched salmon, and Thai-Canton seabass.

You can also add nutritious desserts such as yogurt-granola cups and mixed fruits, so you can end your lunch or dinner on a high note.

Take note that the meal plan selection is quite limited compared to other services. It might not be worth ordering from Grain unless you’re a fan of the company’s food.

Also, on-demand meals are often sold out due to early booking (especially during the Chinese New Year and Christmas seasons), with the unavailability lasting a month or two.

We understand that the booking limit is necessary so Grain can maintain its food quality, but we don’t deny that it could be a hassle to choose this company if you don’t like waiting.

We do like that they have a lot of promos, including the Grain Savers, to compensate for the slightly higher price point.

6. FITTHREE

Pros

  • High-protein meal sets
  • Flavorful, dietitian-approved dishes
  • Allows plan cancellation any time
  • No minimum order required

Cons

  • Direct delivery available in CBD only
  • Meals not customizable

If you’re a person who is active, goes to the gym, and if you don’t have time to whip up a meal, you might want to consider FITTHREE’s meal delivery services.

The meal plans are designed for people who regularly exercise and require control over their diets, so expect low-carb, high-protein sets in measured portions.

That’s not to say that you can’t eat the meals if you’re not that active. You might even want to use FITTHREE as a motivation to start working out because they only deliver at designated gyms around Singapore.

Note that you don’t have to be a member of the gym to pick up the delivery. Simply showing up at the place will work.

That said, we think it’s a bit of a hassle that some customers will have to go to a pickup point to get their meals. FITTHREE offers direct delivery but only CBD-wide.

You might also want to consider other options if you prefer having your meals delivered daily, as the company delivers packages every Monday and Thursday only.
