Pros
- Convenient payment system
- Some machines can take large loads
- Generally clean
- Senior industry player
Cons
- Lacks laundry baskets
- Might get cramped during busy hours
An industry player since 2010, Wonder Wash has since grown to over 100 outlets in Singapore, which we think was impressive in a country dotted with laundromats.
We picked about five outlets (those close to the team members), and we ended up declaring the one I visited in Punggol as the best.
I loved that despite the small space, Wonder Wash’s laundromat still had enough room for decent seating. It even had a fan, perfect to fight off Singapore’s perpetual heat.
I also liked that the branch accepts PayNow, making payment a breeze.
That said, I find amenities like laundry baskets lacking.
And while it was quiet when I used the service, as there were a few people, it may get cramped some other times, especially during the weekends.
Note that there were six washing machines when I used the service, which might not be that much during peak times.

Pros
- High-spec washing machines
- Brightly-lit space
- Has laundry baskets and a folding table
Cons
- Coin changer might not be operational at times
- Busy on weekends
DIY Laundry is consistent with its choice of machines, making it a perfect choice if you’re someone who’s strict with your washer brand.
All of its 14 outlets are equipped with Electrolux washing machines with load capacities from 11 to 20 kilograms.
I tried the 11 kg type, as it’s the cheapest. The machine worked fine, so I had no issues with the washed clothes, plus there was a handy laundry basket for easy collection.
The place also has comfortable benches and was well-lit. The music in the background was a welcome addition considering that I waited half an hour.
I think a probable downside of using this outlet is that there was only one 11 kg machine here, meaning you’d have to either wait for your turn for the washer or opt for the pricier machines.
Meanwhile, the coin changer, according to some of the regulars here, wasn’t always working. I had spare coins with me; fortunately, the machine was working when I was using the service.
Know also that the place is often crowded on weekends. Try visiting early in the morning or late in the evening during weekdays if you want to avoid bumping into people.

Pros
- Easy-to-access location
- Clean and spacious
- Modern washing machines
- Near food establishments
Cons
- Machines finicky with coins
- No 11 kg washer available
Straits Laundry is focused on supplying washing machines for laundromats. That said, it has its own number of self-service laundry outlets around Singapore.
Our team member, Amy, visited the Chinatown outlet to see if the laundromat is up to par with the company’s long list of accomplishments in manufacturing machines.
According to her, the laundry part was smooth, as the washer she used was in top condition. The dryer was also easily accessible.
A minor problem Amy saw was that there was no 11 kg washer in this location, so she had to pay a slightly higher fee to use the 14 kg machines.
She also had some difficulty with operating her selected machine, as it was picky with accepting coins. She got the knack of it halfway through, thankfully.
Amy said it would have helped if a person was there to assist her. That said, Straits Laundry’s laundromats have hotlines that customers can reach anytime should there be issues.
The laundromat’s location isn’t bad, though, as it’s near cafes and restaurants and even a tourist destination in Chinatown.

Pros
- High-end washers
- Has vending machines for coffee and snacks
- Location near restaurants and a mall
- Enough seating and tables
Cons
- Machines only up to 20 kg capacity
- Extra busy during the weekends
If sitting still and waiting patiently for 30 minutes isn’t one of your strong suits, you can take advantage of Laundry@Yes’ location.
The laundromat is near a shopping mall, not to mention that there are restaurants nearby.
I also love that the place itself has a vending machine for a quick coffee and some snacks. The TV and magazines, meanwhile, were nice add-ons to help pass the time.
I was fortunate to catch a member of the staff during my visit, too, and their presence and friendly chat made the waiting time a lot more bearable.
Self-service laundry here was generally fuss-free, thanks in part to the powerful Huebsch washing machines.
The coin changer worked well, too, which was a lifesaver, as I forgot to bring spare change.
Though, it would be better if the laundromat offers other payment options in the future, preferably a cashless one, to keep up with the times.
I noticed that the machines’ capacities were limited to 20 kg, which was different from the usual 23 kg.
My clothes were light, so I had no problems, but do note this limit if you’re planning to bring extra heavy laundry.

Pros
- Premium location
- Airconditioned space
- Lovely interiors
- Assistants often present to help
Cons
- Might be too busy during the holidays
- A bit pricey
Its location in Downtown East makes Laundry Loft a convenient laundromat choice, especially if you’re planning to explore the many shops dotting the area after your little errand.
Our team member Gary particularly liked how the laundry shop was close to two shopping malls, as he had the option to check out stuff while waiting for his clothes.
It’s also near a resort, so vacationers looking to wash some of their clothes will find the laundromat helpful.
Though, he noted that the machines in this outlet have a minimum capacity of 13 kg, making the lowest rate a bit pricier than other laundry shops that use 11 kg washers.
Still, he said that the spacious and air-conditioned space made up for the small price bump.
He was also appreciative of the welcoming vibe of the place thanks to the vinyl floor finish and lovely seats (complete with tables).
That said, the laundromat can become crowded come busy hours (usually on weekend mornings).
If you’re not in a hurry, you can opt for the shop’s dry cleaning and washing services instead so you won’t have to wait in a queue. Note that the processing time for this option is a minimum of four days.
