You don’t have to wonder what kind of service you can expect from A Line Dental Braces Clinic. They couldn’t have come up with a better name, if you ask us. 

What we think sets A Line apart from other dental clinics is that they only accept patients with orthodontics problems. Many highly recommend it for any concerns related to braces.

The clinic provides patients with several options. What we find even better is that the A Line team listens to what patients want and balances those with what they need.

Understandably, most patients want to look good with their braces. For something discreet, we recommend invisible braces, with ceramic braces as another aesthetic option.

A Line also accommodates changing the colour of the rubbers in metal braces at every visit. One of the patients we interviewed mentioned she loves switching colours here because they’re so accommodating about it.

Making a visit to the dentist something to look forward to is certainly a feat. We applaud the friendly and professional team at A Line for this.

A Line even accepts patients who got their braces in other countries. One of the patients they accepted was first rejected by other clinics in Singapore because he got his braces in Malaysia.

One more thing that patients are raving about the clinic is the affordable payment options. Those who are on a budget can opt for the monthly instalments.

We think the scheduling system is yet another boon. One of our testers was able to set up an appointment easily online.

A few people were griping about the lack of lingual and Damon braces in the options, though. We ourselves do not see this as an issue because the clinic already offers several alternatives – but it’s worth mentioning.

Mount Elizabeth Orthodontic Clinic has been around for more than 20 years now. We included this clinic in our list for staying in the biz for that long. 

Like most clinics, its options for braces are invisible, lingual, ceramic and metal braces. Unlike other clinics, it offers jaw surgeries as orthodontic treatment.

What we really find appealing is that MOEC allows hybrid braces. Patients can have two kinds of braces depending on their needs and aesthetic preferences.

This service minimises the disadvantages of certain braces. We find this such a good deal as the price range is quite reasonable. 

Getting braces requires long-term care. We are pleased that the clinic provides follow-up services such as active retainers, Nito bonding and social six braces. 

We can see that Dr Lim and the staff of Mount Elizabeth go the extra mile to make the experience all-around pleasant for their patients. More so for those as young as 7 years old.

The clinic offers orthodontic assessment to patients aged 7 years old. We take an interest in their interceptive orthodontics, which enable children to avoid complicated treatment later. 

Actually, many patients share with us that their entire family goes to Mount Elizabeth for orthodontic issues. A clinic that serves different age groups gets a thumbs up from us. 

International and transfer patients are welcome to Mount Elizabeth as well. We like that booking an appointment can be conveniently done via their website and WhatsApp.

MOEC doesn’t offer self-ligating braces. Some find this disappointing because self-ligating braces are easier to clean than metal ones. 

With the other options available, particularly the hybrid treatment, we think this is a rather small drawback.

Sitting on a chair with all sorts of equipment around you can be a bit intimidating. What we like about Align Braces is that they use a lot of innovative technologies.

Scanning and simulations are made possible with iTero Element®. In our survey, some patients shared that the detailed explanation of the steps made the procedure less unnerving. 

Prospective clients have a number of options from ceramic and metal braces to Invisalign® and Damon braces. We think Align Braces is the prime choice for those dead-set on Invisalign®. 

Most of the patients we interviewed sang praises for the clinic’s Invisalign® procedure. They receive compliments for their smiles all the time. 

For those who want to get Invisalign® on a budget, we recommend the clinic because they have no-interest instalment plans. They also offer student discounts.

All of the above are very good selling points, but what we like the most is that Align Braces is open every day. With this set up, scheduling is a breeze. 

Walk-ins are also welcomed. Most importantly, emergency cases are always accommodated. 

A few do not like that the clinic opens at 11:00 am on weekdays. With the extended hours though, we find the schedule more than acceptable.

There are some who want to keep orthodontic treatment under wraps. For this reason, we recommend My Braces Clinic which is known for its Invisalign® and Incognito braces.

Dr Poon Kee Hwang and her team assess each case carefully. We like that they recommend the braces not for their popularity but for their suitability to the patient. 

During the assessments, the clinic uses the Trios 3Shape scanner, which is top-of-the-line when it comes to 3D impressions. We commend the clinic’s dedication to innovative services.

Patients can even have a glimpse of what to expect from Invisalign® through the simulation provided by iTero. We do love good before-and-after comparison photos.

For kids’ orthodontic needs, we do not have any reservations suggesting this clinic. A parent shared to us that her daughter loves going to My Braces Clinic.

The clinic is dedicated to making dental visits a positive experience for children. We think that they start right off the bat with this through their friendly and helpful receptionists.

Those not qualified for invisible braces can go for ceramic braces or Damon braces. We appreciate the wide range of service My Braces Clinic offers which also include jaw surgery.

The prices for the services are well within the standard range. When it comes to booking an appointment online, we are on the fence with the many fields that have to be filled.

For people who wish to go to a clinic with a global standing, we put forward Expat Dental. Its team of dentists hail from Singapore, the UK, the US and Australia.

Expat Dental actually offers the same types of braces as the other four included in this list. Their options include metal, ceramic and lingual braces as well as Invisalign®.

Expat Dental invests in tech. We think that their 3D scanner and printer play a vital role in the clinic’s  fast, accurate and better service.

What we also find commendable is the top-notch patient care. Knowing that most people fear going to the dentist, Expat Dental creates a spa-like experience for their patients.

A large number of people we surveyed love watching Netflix whilst getting treatments. They claim that it makes the latter much more enjoyable.

As orthodontics is not a one-and-done treatment, we also like that the team at Expat Dental keeps in touch with patients. They do regular check-ins and send appointment reminders.

Expat Dental also performs cosmetic surgeries and restorative dentistry treatments. Many patients like that they can have all these done in one place.

The staff tends to recommend additional services though. We understand the need for upselling, but on occasion, it can be viewed as pushy.

Dr. Catherine Lee Orthodontics is ran by no other than Dr. Catherine Lee. She is an American-trained Orthodontist and also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.

She is on the Clear Correct Global Advisory Board, and is appointed as a visiting Consultant for the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and the Department of Surgery at the National University of Singapore (NUH) for nearly two decades.

She started her orthodontics specialist practice in 2002. Later on, she also specialized in the field of cleft-craniofacial surgical orthodontics.

What we love about her is that she is the Patron and medical director on the board of the Cleft Care Indonesia Foundation (CCIF) – a non-profit charity organization. She provides expertise, resources and strategies for the care of underprivileged cleft-lip and -palate children in Indonesia. 

We like that she caters to a broad age range, seeing patients from age 5 to 75 for a wide variety of services.

The clinic has dedicated treatment rooms for children, furnished with children’s books and a TV per seat to keep young ones occupied and engaged before and during treatment. There are also private rooms connected to a family waiting area, with the option of a one – way privacy mirror, so that family can monitor how their loved ones such as elderly parents are being treated, while giving the patient enough privacy.

What we also like is how they have different options for orthodontics and explains them to help come up with the best option for each patient.

They’ll also work very closely with the family dentist so that everyone gets the best orthodontic care available.

We think she’s a good option with many of her patients vouching for their experience with her—some of them have been going to her for almost a decade now!

All in all, she’s great at what she does and has definitely helped many patients.
