Pros

  • Three branches in Singapore
  • Complimentary (and good) coffee
  • Flexible package
  • Walking distance to the Central Business District
  • Friendly staff

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • No 24-hour access on weekdays
  • Environment can seem frenzied at times

When it comes to accessibility in terms of location, we cannot find any wrong with The Hive. It has three branches in Singapore alone.

All of these are placed strategically in the island to offer utmost convenience to workers. We find the commute easy, and we love that lots of restaurants are well within walking distance.

Given that it has multiple branches all over Asia and even one in Australia, The Hive knows what clients want. And we are pleased to say that the company certainly delivers.

Aside from the advantageous locations, The Hive is popular for being most welcoming to anyone coming on board. The idea of a coworking space is great, but it can be intimidating, too.

To anyone who is looking to give coworking a try after working from home for so long, The Hive is a great option. We like how helpful and friendly the staff are.

In addition to the bright smiles of the staff, workers are treated to a view of the Marina Bay Sands (at least in the Carpenter branch). We can’t fully decide which one cheers us up more.

If you have a writer’s block or are in the middle of an afternoon slump, then you can simply look around for some good energy. If that does not help, there’s free coffee.

Now all these are awesome. But most importantly, The Hive houses private desks and rooms, has stable internet connection, and comes with printers and fax machines.

Because, let’s face it, you’re there to work. The Hive provides everything needed in a regular office. But they do it not in a utilitarian manner, but in a tasteful and charming way.

Now the catch is that it’s only open weekdays. Now this may not be a problem to many, but those who need to hustle during weekends have to find someplace else to work.

Also, like what its name suggests, the space can be buzzing. A vibrant working space can be inspiring to some, but we know there are people who prefer the quiet when doing their jobs.

Pros

  • Four branches in Singapore
  • Unlimited access to hot desks
  • Flexible plans
  • Green space

Cons

Work–life balance is the ideal almost all adults with a job strive for. O2Work knows this and makes it their focus.

When they designed the space, their vision was for clients to find their flow and get the job done efficiently. They can then have more time for family, hobbies, and other things.

We can say it confidently that they were able to make that vision a reality. Many clients love how productive they have become after coming to O2Work.

Several clients also gushed about the greenery in the office. They need not step out to enjoy a bit of nature while working.

Aside from increased productivity, networks can be expanded at O2Work. Some of the clients we chatted with shared that they get to work with like-minded people and exchange ideas.

Growing a business doesn’t seem so daunting when surrounded with peers. We love that workers are provided not only with desks but also opportunities for growth.

The amenities offered are above average. Those who avail the full access package can enjoy mail handling and front desk services; these are really great for startups.

The meeting spaces are well-loved by companies leasing in O2Work. The beautiful and functional spaces make a remarkable impression on their potential clients.

Best of all, we are pleased about the flexible plans offered by O2Work. With the many options for membership available, finding one that suits your preference should be easy.

Pros

  • Discounts for startups
  • Welcomes startups and freelancers
  • Frequent corporate events
  • 24-hour access

Cons

  • Slightly more expensive than competitors

Working in the same space with peers has many benefits. Not many coworking spaces focus on this aspect.

So, of course, we include a coworking space that is especially for startups. For startups, making the right connections is half the work, and LEVEL3 can help with this.

It is a hub for those in the technology industry. These include companies dealing with data and artificial intelligence, food technology, logistics, e-commerce, advertising and more.

LEVEL3 anticipates what potential clients/members need. And we are happy to note that they deliver.

It boasts huge meeting spaces that are perfect for networking events. Private offices with adjacent private meeting rooms are also available for one-on-one negotiations.

Apart from hosting networking events, LEVEL3 organises startup conferences, business workshops, coworking sessions and the likes. We love that opportunities abound here.

The excellent facilities are another selling point of LEVEL3. You have to apply for a membership to enjoy the perks though.

The good news is that startups can have a 10% discount. Small teams can avail suite offices which have desks, chairs and lockers for every team member.

If you are a freelancer, don’t worry. We are pleased to inform you that LEVEL3 has hot desks and personal desks just waiting for you, plus the coffee is awesome.

Pros

  • Full-range facilities
  • Relatively cheap membership plans
  • Flexible plans
  • Located close to restaurants, bars and gyms

Cons

  • Closed on weekends

If you are searching for a coworking space that will not break the bank, then look no further. We included The Working Capitol in our list for this reason.

We know that cost is actually a deciding factor to many when it comes to leasing coworking space. In Singapore where real estate is like gold, cheap rates are not easy to come by.

Well, The Working Capitol is definitely budget-friendly. You can have your own spot for work here for only $255 a month.

Moreover, the plans offered are flexible. For example, if your startup has new team members, they can easily be included in your plan.

You may be hesitant about this, thinking that the services offered and the amenities are not that great given the price. That’s not the case here.

We love that for the rates it’s charging, The Working Capitol is not shortchanging tenants. The amenities offered are pretty similar to those of other coworking spaces in Singapore.

We also like how near The Working Capitol is to many eateries. Restaurants, coffee shops, bars, shoppings malls and hawker centres are like a stone’s throw away.

If you like going to the gym before, after or maybe in the middle of work, then you’ll surely love the location of The Working Capitol. It is close to fitness centres, too.

We are pleased to let you know that it has showers and lockers. Should you find it more convenient, you can go straight here after a workout, refresh a bit, then finish the work day.

Pros

  • Especially for creatives
  • No strict rules regarding use of space
  • Open 24 hours
  • Shared spaces
  • Complimentary parking

Cons

  • Can be too noisy

Are you an artist who wants to have a studio but renting your very own is not exactly within your price range? Well, we just may have a solution for you that is open 24 hours — Tinkertank.

We really enjoy touring Tinkertank which is as far from the common corporate office as possible. We love the industrial style that screams freedom from rigidity and hierarchy.

To inspire creativity, this coworking space provides private offices that are like a blank canvas. You can do what you want to your chosen office.

It’s like being handed a key to mark the space and make it your own. If you do not need that much space, you can still do the same to your designated desk.

Because it targets graphic artists, designers and photographers, the vibe is just different than the usual coworking spaces. The interactions in the shared spaces are fun and stimulating.

We like how collaborations organically happen here. Members can play pool while throwing potential ideas for next projects.

Now as this place is also for tinkerers, furniture makers and the likes, you’ll find it hard to adjust here if you prefer a calm and zen space to get your creative juices flowing.

Drilling and hammering sounds are part of the background music here. If you can handle these sounds or even prefer them, then we are happy to introduce you to your next place of work.
