Pros

  • Affordable fees

Cons

  • Busy during peak days so book ahead of time

We recently visited Soap Ministry, a creative arts and crafts company, and were thoroughly impressed with the quality of their services. The staff were not only knowledgeable but also extremely personable, making our experience both educational and enjoyable.

Moreover, the efficiency of the workshop was remarkable. Despite the intricate nature of the activities, everything was organized seamlessly, ensuring we could complete our projects without any unnecessary delays.

Additionally, the affordability of Soap Ministry’s offerings is noteworthy. Given the premium materials and personalized attention, the prices are quite reasonable, making it a great value for money.

Pros

  • Offers comprehensive art programs for all ages
  • Instructors customize guidance to match student skills
  • Fun, positive environment

Cons

  • Class size of 9:1 for adults may be too big for some
  • No craft-related classes

Little Arts Studio’s comprehensive programs and short courses are ideal for people looking into learning art long-term.

Multiple art sessions are particularly true of Little Arts’ Junior Picassos and Budding Artists Program for kids, which aim to expose children to various techniques and mediums.

Young learners we interviewed described their lessons as fun and their instructors friendly. Moreover, their parents said their kids enjoyed the sessions, evidenced by the lovely art the children produced.

Adults also enjoy multi-session programs in portraiture and oil painting, among others.

Learners we interviewed shared that the short courses have a clear structure, allowing them to see progress and stay motivated until the last session.

The students added that instructors provide individualized guidance. Their teachers adapt instructions to their skills and things they struggle with so they don’t feel left behind.

That said, Little Arts lessons are focused on traditional art using canvas/paper and the learner’s medium of choice. Those interested in craft making (woodwork, embroidery, or pottery) should look elsewhere.

The class size for adult courses (9:1) might also be too big for some learners, especially since most sessions only last two hours.

One client commented that she felt the guidance falling short of her expectations, as the instructor needed to juggle among nine beginners (though she clarified that the positive learning environment helped her feel satisfied).

Pros

  • Peaceful and calming learning space
  • Professional yet friendly instructors
  • Well-maintained wheeling equipment
  • Offers free drinks and snacks

Cons

  • Long session hours might not be optimal for busy people
  • Mini-course isn’t always available

People who want to get into pottery for stress relief may find 3Arts Pottery’s approach ideal.

The workshop offers pottery-making classes using manual and electric spinning wheels, allowing for a complete craft experience.

Aside from that, learners love the pottery teachers’ approach and the place’s overall vibe.

Students of 3Arts shared that their instructors are true professionals of the craft, warm, and supportive.

They added that the teachers tailor instructions to their skills and give regular compliments to boost their confidence.

Meanwhile, the airy and brightly lit workspace and the comfortable silence accompanying the class when they go to work are therapeutic for most learners.

Moreover, students get free drinks and snacks. The freebies are a welcome perk, as most sessions last three hours.

However, the length of the lessons means you’ll have to commit a considerable time of your day to the session, which might be challenging if you’re busy.

Furthermore, the workshop’s mini-course (which is shorter at five lessons compared to the full course with ten lessons) is not always available.

Pros

  • Wide selection of yarn colors for tufting
  • Small class size
  • Friendly and patient instructors

Cons

  • Some beginners may find the instructions hard to follow
  • Pricey payment for extra hours

Creating your own decorative rug is just a lesson away at Hueplay Studio.

The studio has everything students need to finish their fabric creations, including specialized tufting guns, a frame with monk cloth, and over 50 different yarn colors!

Aside from the complete equipment, learners also appreciate their helpful teachers. They said their instructor assisted them in choosing a design to work with, which made the process less intimidating for beginners.

Moreover, the sessions are accompanied by uplifting background music, keeping learners motivated.

However, we think it’d be better to join Hueplay’s tufting class with some ideas about the craft. That’s because you might not finish your rug on time if you’re completely clueless (tufting has a maximum of four hours to complete).

You can book an extension if you can’t finish, but you’ll have to pay $20 per extra hour (which is pricey).

A few clients also commented that a few instructors aren’t 100% hands-on with teaching, which they said contributed to their slow progress.

If you think tufting might be too challenging, opt for the studio’s punch needle workshop instead. The class allows students to create coasters and other decorative fabric items they can complete in three hours.

Pros

  • Wide range of soap scents available
  • Offers focused guidance per student
  • Great for family bonding

Cons

  • Not for fragrance-sensitive people
  • One-hour sessions can get pricey

Making soaps at Soap Art is perfect for people who love pleasant scents and mixing ingredients.

Instructors teach students the melt-and-pour technique, which is beginner-friendly and safe for children and adults alike.

Learners who are new to soap-making appreciate the teachers’ guidance the most. One client complimented her instructor’s coherent and accurate explaination of the process.

She added that the instructor was ready to assist any time she was struggling.

She has been to three soap-making classes (basic, intermediate, and herb soap workshops), and all sessions have been fun and satisfying for her so far.

Another client enjoyed the soap carving workshop. He brought his kids, allowing for creative and unique family time.

However, note that some one-hour sessions can be pricey (from $170), such as the intermediate and specialized soap classes.

Students can choose more than one color or additional ingredients in these classes, hence the higher fees.

Also, not all people might find the classes enjoyable. You might need to look for another workshop if you’re sensitive to strong fragrances.

Pros

  • Educational leather lessons
  • Beginner-friendly
  • Highly accessible location
  • Patient and encouraging instructors

Cons

  • 25+ class types might cause choice fatigue
  • Sessions are long

Aside from its gorgeous leather products, Crafune offers a broad selection of workshops, allowing you to create bags and wallets with your own two hands.

Some students who tried the classes on a whim said they didn’t know what they were getting into, but the kind and welcoming instructors gently guided them to the basics and intricacies of leathercraft.

They noticed that the provided drafting tools are high-quality.

Some of the things explained in the class include the characteristics of leather and how to wield the tools efficiently.

They commented that the classes are long, though. Some worked for four hours, while others seven hours.

The long sessions mean you’ll need to free up a day to attend, which might be challenging if you’re busy.

Despite the length of the classes, students shared that the process was stress-relieving and fun in a calming way. Also, the joy they felt when they finished their leather item was rewarding.

However, note that the number of classes might overwhelm you, as you need to sift through 28 types (depending on the item you want to make).

Note though that one of the cons is its location, which may not be convenient for all families. In conclusion, De Mini Art Studio stands out as an exceptional place for nurturing artistic talent and creativity in a supportive and engaging environment. With a unique teaching approach that respects individual creativity and emphasizes the joy of artistic expression, the studio successfully caters to a broad age range, fostering a love for art in both children and adults.
